Vista and Office 2007 Compatibility

Who is this update for?

Premier 2007 customers running on Windows Vista. This update allows those customers to use Outlook Sync, OfficeLink and provides ODBC Direct support.

Installation Instructions

The following update for Premier 2007 customers running Windows Vista has several steps. It is highly recommended that you print these instructions and follow each step.

  1. Backup all of your Premier data including company file and customized forms and templates by using the BACKUP feature from the FILE menu in Premier 2007. Be sure to choose BACKUP ALL DATA.
  2. Exit out of both Premier Accounting 2007 and Microsoft Outlook.
  3. Download the MYOB Premier 2007 Vista update by clicking the appropriate DOWNLOAD button below and choosing to save the installer to your desktop.
  4. You will be required to uninstall and reinstall Premier 2007. Rather than installing from CD and applying updates that have been downloaded and installed in the past, you can download the last release of Premier 2007 Release 11.1.0 by clicking on the link below and saving the installer to your desktop.
  5. Take any necessary files/folders, such as your company data file and your FORMS and SPREADSHEETS folders out of your program directory and place them on your desktop.
  6. Go to your CONTROL PANEL and choose the UNINSTALL PROGRAMS option. Select the MYOB Premier Accounting 2007 option and click on the UNINSTALL button at the top of the screen, following the prompts to completely remove MYOB Premier Accounting 2007 from your system.
  7. Once MYOB Premier Accounting 2007 has been uninstalled… do the same for MYOB ODBC v7, again, following the prompts to completely remove it from your system.
  8. Reinstall Premier 2007 using the Premier 2007 r11.1.0 installer downloaded in step 4. Perform a ‘TYPICAL’ installation of the software.
  9. Upon completion of the installation, go back to your CONTROL PANEL and choose UNINSTALL PROGRAMS. Uninstall the MYOB ODBC v7 installation once again. It will be reinstalled by default when you proceed to Step 10.
  10. Now run the Premier 2007 Vista update you’ve downloaded to your desktop in Step 3.
  11. Copy the company file, and any folders you copied to your desktop in Step 5 back into your C:/Premier2007 directory, overwriting any existing copies.
  12. Launch your MYOB Premier Accounting 2007 application and open your company file.
  13. Go to your Cards List and choose the ‘SYNC CARDS’ option. Follow the on screen instructions to sync your contacts within MYOB and Outlook. If you don’t get a popup window like the one below, run the ‘SYNC CARDS’ option again.

  14. Open Outlook and confirm that the cards you’ve synced with MYOB have appeared in your Microsoft Outlook Contacts under 4 different groups:
    • MYOB Customers
    • MYOB Vendors
    • MYOB Employees
    • MYOB Personal

  15. Open your Card File in Premier Accounting 2007 and confirm that the cards you’ve synced with Microsoft Outlook have appeared in your MYOB Contacts. Please remember that anything that is being synced from Microsoft Outlook to MYOB Premier Accounting 2007 must exist in the above mentioned groups within Outlook. Two download buttons. The ODBC download should say something about Vista Only and the other say for Vista and XP customers.
